Have you ever had that feeling of familiarity when looking at a piece of art? In fact, art stands for inspiration but not any art piece offers this sentiment of finding yourself and your experiences inside of it.
This is why today we’re going to talk about emotion in photography.
Expressing emotion: some of us are great at doing it, others are at a loss in showing our feelings through our acts. Whether you like it or not, the most skillful ones in expressing emotions are the real artists, as art goes hand in hand with sentiments.
I have lately got a lot of inspiration and this familiar feeling I told you about, out of the work of Gardner Hamilton, one of the most appreciated photographers in the US.
Experienced in more types of photography, Gardner has been skillfully playing with photo art in such a way that all of his wedding works stand out as emotion expressions par excellence I might say. And I base this belief on a set of random wedding photos that represent the proof of his emotion-producing artistic perspective.
Now I’m going to show off some of his wedding creations that inspired me the most and do my favourite thing, that is captioning them according to the feelings that they produce for me.
- Here we go. If I were to caption Gardner’s creation below I would simply call it “emotion of new beginnings”:
- Passing on to the next of his wedding creations that I particularly liked, the best caption for this one would be the “love. devotion . honour”:
- And my last caption is the very expression of love: “family is the whole world”:
